Closely followed by buying cycle parts from the scrap yard and building them in to working cycles.

All seems so long ago now!!! :(

Things aint changed Trev!
I buy up old MG parts (especially Su's) and just clean them up for resale.. take a pair of cruddy SU's and try to sell them?? No takers. Remove the dash pots and polish them on the buffer wheel. Result, folk paying more for two shiny dashpots than they would for two whole cruddy carbs in working order. Go figure ? Bling does pay off now and then :D

It just goes to show that you CAN polish a turd now and then :omgrofl:

Hi :)

I will post the link in fact 2 links as I refuse to post anything more in the first one....

When you read them you ,must remember that Porsche guys are extremely rude to anyone (me) who does anything apart from driving their Porsche and using a main dealer for work.... they do NOT like anyone like me who actually uses spanners on a Porsche or does something different... lol

Also the person "911COOL" is NOT a Porsche owner at all and you may even recognise him from this forum....

Interesting??
The pics load up on my pc way faster on that porsche forum than they do from here!! I gave up last night and thought my pc was playing up as usual.

I have a question....... How long does it take to fit new spark plugs

I wouldnt get too flustered about porka folk who turn up their noses about what you do with your car? There are rivet counters on all car forums mate. I've had the odd comment from MG folk about the FrankenBee. But mainly at shows. Never on the MGOC forum. Most of the folk on my MG forum support my hairbrained schemes :) They love to see the old 70's GT kick some ass in the Pod video's :D

I just wish I had the readies to get it tubbed so it looks more street like yours does..
But hey ho! As long as it cuts the mustard on the 1/4 I'm happy. The biggest buzz in when folk come to me in the pits after a stonking pass and ask what egnine I'm running? SBC, BBF....Nope! Just a lil' old Rover V8 mate. All stock apart from forged pistons :)

The reply is often, "Rover V8 !! You sure??" That always makes me chuckle.
When I had my chrome Edelbrock rocker covers fitted I had an american guy look at the engine and say "ah! I wondered how this thing could ever do a 10. You got American muscle in there" I asked him what engine he thought it was and he told me. My reply was "can you see where the distributor is mounted?" He looked at the engine..He looked at me.. He looked at the engine again. I just Said "Buick 280ci. Or as you may know it, a UK Rover V8" :beatstick:

Theres a load of folk who I chat to on the MGOC forum, and thousdands more who only ever visit and not post. I think I'm the guy the forum members look on as "the Nutter with the Nitrous on his MGB". I often get that at MG shows when I get inoit conversation with strangers. When I tell them I use the car for sprint racing, I'll often get told that they know of a guy who uses nitrous on his GT V8 and races at Santapod. When I ask them if the car is a Black GT and they say yes. I just hold out my hand and say "Hi, I'm Perry Stephenson and the Black GT is mine. I am the Skyline basher"
I also get a lot of mail on the forum and via hotmail from folk just asking for me to explain how it all works as they are interested. I guess in the case of porka owners, they already have rapid cars. So they maybe cant see the point in making it any better. I bet if they got in a nitrous porka and did a passenger run on the 1/4 mile to feel the effect of nitrous they would either say " I gotta have this stuff" or they would say "nah, I dont like that" Which would probably translate to "that scared the shit out of me, but I aint going to say that"

Anyway!
Just get all that stuff bolted on and go show us a stonking 200 plus this year mate.

I have managed to get an MG nitrous / WON convert this year. I call it "Project Red Dwarf".
Its a Midget with a 1275cc engine. And its a real doozy mate.. We cleaned up this old mini engine, stuck on some better carbs and big zorst. We chucked in a much better cam. Although it idles like shit and only comes on song over 3000rpm. We had it on the rollers and tuned the nuts out of the thing on the SU's and dissy. Then we took it to the Pod last year and put it up against the best stage 2 tuned MGB 1800cc we had on site.
MGB 1800 ran 17.3......Project Red Dwarf ran a 16.4.......
Project Red Dwarf now has a WON system made from my own spares + some stuff from Ant and has now made another 9 bhp and another 13 ft/lbs on the dyno...

She wont set the world on fire. But she will run a 15 this year and trash a shit load of other MG's and modern cars on the 1/4 mile :beatstick:

And as its a real show car that a lot of MG folk respect, its going to raise a good few eyebrows :D And as it still looks totally stock, I bet he gets a lot more attention than I do

Just stick at it Brett! I've been at it for 9 years now and I'm slowly chipping away at my goal. Only 0.6 of a second to go now and I'll be there ;)

Hi :)

You are right...I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Happy lollllllllllllllll

The politics etc on the Porsche forums are awful and they do NOT like people like me or Trev who speak our minds, I have been banned from several for doing exactly that and would not be in the least surprised if that thread was deleted and myself and Trev banned.....

Do I care ?? NO, this is the only Forum I care about :)

........................................................................................

The ONLY REVO system on s street car in the UK.... HEHEHE

Someone asked me today why I got the first...my answer was simple....Trev ALWAYS keeps his word :)

I never had a single doubt he would....

All I can say to anyone reading this is....you HAVE GOT TO GET SOME REVOS lolll

They are AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the best Brett :)

I Have to say Brett, Iv'e read through those 2 threads and the guy (although not put very subtly and politely) does make several valid points...

There is an 'air' of a slightly pointless nature to the thread...especially the first one which is completly pointless and just seems intent on stirring 'trouble' in my opinion...

Having seen a fair few argumentative posts on Nitrous now in other forums...it's safe to say that generally speaking people know VERY little about the subject...

you go on there with no 'interesting' 'on the road' information about your system and just seem to state your fitting a 2000hp system to your porsche... what did you expect exaclty..lol :beatstick:

When i had my system fitted 2/3 years back... i didn't post a thing untill i had a fair bit on info to show...some good piccys and some dyno run printouts too...which were actually not all that impressive, but still some nice evidence that the system was doing what it was supposed to..

Perhaps you could of posted a little more info on....

Cost...?
use...as i'm still not sure on this one myself...lol...
where you've used the system so far... how fast you've been etc etc
amount of nappies filled whilst in use...lol

i think you get my drift.... i think you need to make the thread a little more interesting.... it just looks to me like you've thrown an OUTRAGEOUS budget on this car because you can..

all the best...

Hi Chris :)

Its difficult to explain to someone who is not a Porsche owner, but ever since I started with a WON Nitrous kit around 5 or 6 years ago, I have had LOTS of hassle from other Porsche owners...

Things like HOW DARE YOU do that to a Porsche etc etc....

They totally look down on me for what I have done and therefore what you are reading is the end of 5 years like that....

So should I give them information.....maybe.....but IF i did it would only get derided....so I rarely do...

Let me put it this way...its MY car and I am totally happy with my WON system and always have been, it does precisely what I want and always has....

There are always "keyboard warriors" on any net site, but the Porsche ones are worse (take my word) lol...

If and when I decide to release figures they will be accurate and at the moment are my business (and Trevs)

I am a bit of an individualist and a great believer in free speech...that also includes the right to NOT say anything if I do not want to....

Regarding cost, I would not pay a penny for anything that didn't work, and I am perfectly happy with what I paid Trev for a truly astonishing system :) :)

p.s That "guy" was NOT a Porsche owner he was a stalker from here....

All the best Brett :)

Hi Chris,

I think Brett is in a similar position to mine, in that anyone new to reading some of my latest posts would think I was paranoid (as I've recently been accused of), because they aren't aware of the ongoing BS I've had to endure and don't appreciate the effect that has on a person over a sustained period of time.

Like Brett I believe that the guy who made the main attack on him on that Porsche forum 'was' a member of this forum who had tracked him down (stalked him) just to attack him and in my book that is bang out of order, especially when the guy hides behind his computer and a false name, regardless of how accurate or otherwise his comments are.

It could be said that Brett could have presented his case in a more defined way from the outset but its my guess that he likes to ruffle a few Porsche feathers and has found that his current method does that extremely well. LOL

I also see why you don't think they are all attacking him, because I noticed that 'some' of them seemed very interested in the actual facts and results but just like in my own situation, those that attack and offend tend to get the most attention unfortunately.

Were it not for my daughter and granddaughter being here visiting me from Malta, I'd have made a post on that forum by now to straighten things out a bit, but as it is that will have to wait till I'm back to normal at the end of next week as I don't even really have time for all the posts on my own forum.

I'll tell you what annoys me most about forums and certain people who participate on them;
Some people see a post they don't agree with and/or dislike but rather than ignore it they choose to attack the poster and in extreme cases demand the thread/post be removed (even though they have no direct interest in the content), which to me is plain CRAZY on all counts.

BTW I'm not saying that's what you've done, just in case there was any doubt on that. ;)

I think I am with Chris on this one Brett. You are clearly not going to utilise 2000bhp and to make that the point of your thread on a forum who already have it in for you is a bit daft in my opinion. Yes, be proud you have the finest system in the world on your car, but make realistic claims about your setup and expectations and you won't get such negaitive comments..............

Hi :)

Although I see both your points, take my word even if I said it was a ONE hp Nitrous system, I WOULD get negative comments on Porsche Forums....

The forums are always against any Nitrous system on a Porsche, but whenever I go to any Porsche shows with my car, there are ALWAYS crowds around it discussing it...lol

I have had this hassle for years and years and no matter what I said, it wont change :(

Its a bit like Trev with people thinking American systems are better lollll, they will go on for years but that still doesn't make them right....

All the best Brett :)

I think Brett likes to wind them up after all the shit they've dished out in the past Dave. ;)

Brett's knowledgeable enough about power to know that his stock Porsche motor/car can't handle 2,000 BHP (as it is) and those that take his posts seriously on the Porsche forum are just showing how dumb they are as they don't realise when they are being baited. :omgrofl: ;)
