first of all new here so hi everyone

Pump question: -
With a generation 1 hayabusa 2005, what is the fuel pressure at the fuel rail, and how much additional flow is it capable of for a wet nitrous system.
would it cope with an extra 100hp or would i need to ad a separate fuel pump

fuel question: -
this would only be used on track
which would be better unleaded, super unleaded or avgas ??

ive read that some use an extra pump and tank run super to the engine and avgas to the wet sytem are there advantages to this

I believe the stock fuel system can handle in the region of 75 extra HP (approx.) and above that you'd need to fit a high flow pump (not an additional one), to be on the safe side.

Super unleaded with octane booster

Not worth the effort and although some people claim improvements by using avgas, in theory at least there shouldn't be any.

Hi johnny , just a bit of info which may be helpfull .
I run a dry system on my Gen 1 Busa . I've found ( after much plug chopping etc ) that the bike performs best with a 100 Nitrous ( 50bhp ) fitted ( these are WON values )
No matter how you choose to make extra power( ie big bore , pipe , nitrous etc etc ) the stock fueling system can safely support 225/230 RWHP ,max , NO MORE .
I use Shell V Power in mine and run 1 grade colder plugs NGK CR10Es with smaller gaps than stock .
I also use a progressive controller( mini max) and a retard module as extra protection , with all this plus an rpm window switch to cut the Nitrous in the event of a missed gear etc my bike has been 100 percent reliable over the last 3 seasons of Top Speed and Drag Racing . . Regards Greg H

Hi johnny . What do you intend using your Busa for , will it be a track/road bike or a pure track bike . I must admit It's good to hear that another "Gas Bike" may be on the scene "up north" . Regards Greg H

Hi Johnny

Before using nitrous flow test your pump, have known several of these units to fail to deliver enough fuel for prolonged flat out runs yet alone supply enough to run gas....

If you intend to use it for track only with a substantial hit, you'd be better off running race fuel, sunoco max nos or vp c16.
I am surrounded by busa's at present being at shakey for the open nationals, and you wont find one here running gas on pump fuel!!!
Personally i cn recommend the sunoco as thats what i use in my gsxr andits the 1st fuel thats allowed me to run 125bhp of gas.
If you're not used to gas, start small and work your way up, and keep testing flow rates as you go.
I would also ditch the genuine pump and fit something overated, then run your kit off the fuel rail

Steve
