Hi all,

I won the RWD 1/4 mile fastest time, RWD top speed, and the RWD shootout finals!

Well happy, as it was missfiring all day and especially in the finals/top speed run, but was still fast enough to take the win for the MR2's!

Need some more MR2's competing next year!

I've got some pics/vids that il upload later,

A very happy, Michael.

I got 2 trophys and there should be another one on the way as they seem to have forgot about the shootout finals trophys!

Times werent fantastic as i had a pesky missfire problem all day, but my shed was still fast enough to beat all the big boys/tuners with a missfire

Best 1/4 time was a 10.7x @ 139mph and a 166mph standing 1km top speed, but had a bad missfire and had to let off ages before the line (was doing 141mph at the end of the 1/4 on street tyres :D ), so if it would of gone full throttle would of been 180+mph easily if it would of had enough gearing in it!

I also got one of my personal goals of running a 10sec quarter on street tyres (10.9@141mph), so that was a nice bonus!

So overall a great weekend, and also my mate Andy Speck in his tigra took the 1/4, top speed and shootout finals for the FWD class aswell

Congratulations Michael.

So did you use the nitrous assist to achieve that and if so what size jets did you end up using?

Thanks alot lad

I've built and designed the engine/car myself so just go's to show the underdogs/joe blogg's, can mix it with the big boys/tuners with their open cheque books!

And yeah, Andys Tigra is blue mate, its an amazing car and IIRC pulled 174mph in the top speed run :omgrofl:

Thanks Trevor

And nope, still no nitrous!

As i cant run slicks @ totb i was running Drag radials and the car was so much easier to control at speed! It was pretty much straight throughout the day, So....When i figure out why it was missfiring, I may get the nitrous mapped in soon and try a run @ the pod with the drag radials and see what terminals i can get. On the slicks i was pulling 1.6 60's and my best yesterday was only 1.9's :omgrofl:

When i get it going straight on the slicks, then a 9sec run is inevitable and then i cant imagine how fast it would go with the nitrous on top with some 1.6 or less 60fts!

One of the best weekends ive ever had with the car and many thanks to everyone that came to help/watch and everyone involved with the car! Its really filled me with confidence in it after this last show!

A very happy Michael

Here's a vid of me racing him, I got annihalated lol!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC7sTEgRpoE

I managed 6th in the FWD class with a 12.4 though managed a 12.3 on the saturday. I came 3rd in FWD on the high speed km@ 165mph.

I was running a 150 shot of gas direct port. Was my first time really using the system alot. 27 runs over the 2 days, loved the nitrous on the high speed run, the car just kept pulling right through through 5th, crossed at 7500rpm the limiter is at 8000rpm and the car just wasn't slacking.

Thanks lads

Spuddy, thanks for that video mate, your cars awesome mate! Top speed is hauling!

Was good to meet you and the Irish crew, you all seemed as barmy (and as pissed!) as us, so it was a good weekend allround! (think i was still pissed on the first few runs in the morning  )

Couple of vids of the final,

Perry,

Yeah the driveshafts held up ok, was a bit dubious as i was running a standard CV cage on the offside after snapping the shaft at Pod, and didnt get chance to swap the uprated cage onto the new shaft beforehand, so wasnt launching it hard in fear of breaking them. Also people seem to snap the shafts/CV's a lot easier on Drag radials rather than slicks, so i was kind of waiting for them to let go, but luckily they held up fine

Cheers Michael.

Cheers lad

A 9 is in it on the slicks, its just getting it to go straight! On the DR's it was easy to drive @ TOTB.

I may map the nitrous in and see if it will pull a 9 on pure power, just have to have a word with my mapper when he gets back from mapping in OZ. Then ive already got the nitrous mapped in, for when i get it going straight on the slicks.

The slicks may just need a really good burnout and slightly lower pressures, it was getting there last time at the pod. A slicks launch with the top end stability of the DR's would be perfect!

Michael.

Very well done :)

On your top end stability problem your running wrinkle wall non radial slicks with radial front tyres I take it?? If so that's your problem ;)

Yeah that has been mentioned to me, that if im running a bias ply in the rear i should run a bias ply in the front.
Apparently its exagerated with the mid engined/rwd setup?

I'd love a set of bias ply skinnies up front but just dont have the funds!

I could get my stiff BFG drag radials to launch really well. But I had to smoke the crap out of them in the burnout. I'm talking a 10 second burnout or until my Son flagged me off the burnout as the smoke was THICK white from the tyres.
